22nd August: Be An Angel Day
National Be An Angel Day, celebrated on August 22nd, emphasises good deeds and goodwill to others. By assisting people in need and inspiring others to be kind, we do an angelic act here on Earth.
The holiday also honours individuals who have been angels to us. Sometimes we have a bad day. We all have them, whether it’s awful news or poor planning. A nice remark, a hug, or even a pleasant environment can make a difference.
Whether it is through the hand that offers you a way back to standing, or the fireman that pulls someone out of a building, we have all experienced someone in our lives whom we can call an angel. Whether it was a minor thing on a bad day that just helps us cope or a major action that changed our lives, most of us have looked skywards and thanked God for that person’s help. Today is the day to recognize that, during Be An Angel Day.
- Be kind to others. Do something to help a stranger.
- Volunteer your time and money to a charitable organization.
- Do something that will bring a smile to the face of people.
- If someone is being an angel to you, thank them, and let them know that their kindness is being appreciated.
