July 20th: International Chess Day 2021
International Chess Day is a worldwide chess festival celebrated every year on July 20th, the day FIDE was founded in 1924. Approval on December 12, 2019, when the United Nation General Assembly unanimously passed resolution 74/22, making July 20 World Chess Day.
Chess is one of the oldest intellectual and cultural games with a combination of sports, scientific thinking, and artistic elements. As an affordable and inclusive activity, it can be played anywhere and by anyone, across borders.
