6th March: National Dentist’s Day
National Dentist’s Day falls on March 6th every year. It was established as a way to show appreciation and thanks to dentists. It’s also a way to bring awareness to dentistry so that people will know more about how to care for their teeth.
In many cases, the day of our dental visit usually has us a bit nervous and sometimes anxious. We would often rather be someplace else than sitting in a dental chair. The dentist is not the person most of us look forward to seeing. However, when our checkup is done, our teeth are cleaned, the cavities are filled, the broken tooth is fixed, or a toothache is gone, we appreciate what the dentist has done for us.
Important Dental Care Tips:
- Brush twice per day for at least two minutes
- Floss daily
- Visit your dentist twice per year or as recommended by your dentist
- Eat a balanced diet and limit eating and drinking between meals
